Punct de pornire: Firenze
Destinatie: Cannes
Stopover: Portofino
Intram in Genoa. Superb!
Urmeaza Santa Margherita Ligure, apoi ne indreptam spre Portofino.

Today I’ll continue to tell you about my French-Italian Roadtrip. We are tired, sitting in the car, but in the meantime we are happy about the Firenze 4 Ever Party, organized by Luisa Via Roma. We enter Genoa. Wonderful! Have you been there? I’m curious what can be done in this city, because this time I could only admire it from the car. On the left side, there was the beautiful, blue sea, whereas the mountains from the right side gave me the impression that I was being „clenched” because of the extremely narrow road.
We are heading for Santa Margherita Ligure and then we have Portofino on our list. I can’t believe the wonders surrounding me. The little port town – Portofino – is the embodiment of beauty. An explosion of colours and textures that I have rarely seen. When you think that, some years ago, it was a small fishing village from Genoa, in the North-West region of the country. Today, Portofino has some small vessels, but those are the most luxurious ones. On the shore, a handful of restaurants and coffeehouses were born. According to the historical facts, Portofino was founded by the Romans and was named so after the Portus Delphini, because of the high number of dolphins that lived in the Tigullian Golf nearby.
Firenze-Cannes via Portofino is a heavenly road. The last stopover was in Monte Carlo. And because Monaco, the microstate that hosts Monte Carlo, is considered an independent principality, I can say that I have enriched my „traveller portfolio” with one more must-visit country. 😉 I can say that this small vacation brought me a small cultural and sentimental fortune. Because it left me with some images I will never forget…
