In satul bunicii.
The time has come to show you one of the most spectacular editorials I have done so far for Beautify by Beatrice. First of all, the clothes I wore were extremely special. All the items that you can see in the photos belong to the IIANA brand and are meant to promote something very dear to my heart: the traditional Romanian values.
I find it wonderful that our grandmas and grand grandmas have left us some beautiful items… we are searching for luxury and glamour on the catwalks of designers that are so far from us, whereas real beauty is so close. In the village of our grandma. This is a thing that my friends from IIANA understood very well – they added a touch of modernity and chic to a very old style. It is truly admirable.
The traditional Romanian blouse (Altita Alba motif) stems from Muntenia and was sewn manually in the IIANA ateliers (you can find it here: http://www.iiana.ro/ie-maneca-scurta/ie-traditionala-romaneasca-maneca-scurta-motivul-altita-alba-ie29alt.html). I am glad that they preserved not only the inegalable style, but also the good quality materials that our grandmothers and great grandmothers used. The blouse is made of 100% linen and was sewn with four pieces of canvas that were put together in a cross-like form.
The elegant lace-skirt also belongs to the spring-summer collection and is a perfect match for the most traditional Romanian blouses. I find it so charming that I think it would also be perfect for a daring bride that would like to be special at her civil ceremony 🙂 You can order it online from here (http://www.iiana.ro/fusta-eleganta-dantela-fu10dan.html).

Pana atunci, va doresc cer senin si soare in suflet!
I hope I raised your interest for the fascinating Romanian universe, because I am preparing a new post related to the traditional blouses with a digital print. Until then, I wish you a clear sky and lots of sun in your souls!
